Welcome to the Mathematics Department of Hwa Chong Institution (High School Section).

Our goals are to:

• inculcate the appreciation of the beauty and values (the cultural, intellectual, aesthetic and recreational aspect) of mathematics
• develop students' critical, creative and caring thinking skills
• develop students' ability to communicate and reason mathematically
• provide opportunities for students to use mathematics in solving real-world problems
• instill in students the spirit of continual and inquiry learning

On top of this, we also want to develop students with high ability in Mathematics to instill the culture of doing research by ensuring an enriched environment that invites learning, and provide opportunities for these students to exercise responsible leadership through special investigative projects and activities.
