Arts Enrichment & Appreciation

Sec 1 Music
  1. Exposure and appreciation of the different genre music during assembly.
Sec 2 Visual Arts
  1. Exposure and appreciation of visual arts by having talks by our very own Art Department teachers and/or local artist.
  2. Each class will have an opportunity to visit Hwa Chong's very own Art Gallery. They will be accompanied by a student gallery guide.
  3. Interested students will have the opportunity to be trained as an art gallery guide.
Sec 3 Film
  1. Film appreciation Talk by a local filmmaker during assembly.
Sec 4 Dance
  1. Dance appreciation & performanc of different genre during assembly.


SHAW (arts)

During the afternoons of the sabbatical week (Term 1 - Term 4), our school will have SHAW (Sports, Health and Arts Week) activities. Students within their CCAs will experience either Sports or Arts activities.

For the SHAW (arts), the students, in their CCA groups, will be exposed to the arts according to:

Term 1 (Clubs & Societies)

Term 2 (UGs)

Term 3 (Sports)

Within CCA, students will be sectioned into their levels, Sec 1 to Sec 4, to align with their level art forms.

Occasionally, there will also be lunch time performances for students to both participate and appreciate music.
