Funding for Students

The following types of funds are available to students participating in overseas competition, cultural exchanges or attending overseas conferences. Updated details are available in the school server's O-drive, first folder on "Funding Admin".

• Talent Development Fund (TDF): Merit-based (MSG<2.5, DM, CIP)
• Internationalization Fund (IF): For Singaporeans on overseas exchange only
• MOE Student Opportunity Fund (OF): On financial needs basis
• HCI Needy Pupils Fund (NF): On financial needs basis

CHECKLIST FOR APPLICATION OF FUNDS FOR OVERSEAS TRIPS

• After finalizing Cost of Trip, prepare Budgeting Form
• Consult Dean/SD on Funding Eligibility (subj to approval by Principal)
• Prepare Internationalization Fund (IF) Form [if applicable]
  (One form per group)
• Prepare Talent Development Fund (TDF) Form [if applicable]
  (One form per student participant)
  To be submitted with selection criteria and selection process.
• Prepare Opportunity Fund (OF) Form [if applicable]
  (On needs basis)
• Prepare Pupil Needy Fund (NF) Form [if applicable]
  (On needs basis)
• Submit Budgeting Form with the relevant forms above & itinerary to DSD
  (At least 1 month before departure)
• Submit copy of Budgeting Form & Itinerary to Principal
  (At least 1 month before departure)
• Students to prepare cheque payable to "Hwa Chong Institution"
• If Internationalization Fund (IF) is used, prepare copies of Survey Form and Reflections Form for student participants.
  (To be submitted to DSD within one week upon touchdown)
