The Hwa Chong High School Council prides itself on the Councillors who embody the Hwa Chong spirit of passion and honour for the School. It is this spirit that guides them in their leadership roles, whether in the High School Council or the Consortia-based Councils. In addition to serving as role models who must instil institutional pride in every Hwa Chongian, both the Secondary 4 Councillors and the incoming Councillors share a deep understanding of Servant Leadership, and how as Councillors, they have a responsibility of service to the School and their peers. They understand that service is a fundamental aspect of their leadership, and they do this through the various student welfare initiatives, lending a voice to the student population, and forming the bridge between the students and the School Administration.
As an endorsement of the student leaders' aspirations and responsibilities in serving the School, the 37th High School Council Investiture on 3rd February 2010 will mark the next step for these students in their leadership path. It is a day when inspired individuals take on the challenge of leading their own Councils to serve the School and students; it is a day when they are given their Councillor badge which symbolises the trust that is invested in them by teachers and students.
