Once again, Hwa Chong Institution is opening its applications to Primary Six students who are academically inclined or are exceptionally talented in sports for the 2012 academic year.
There are 2 Direct School Admission (DSA) exercises:
Hwa Chong DSA Phase 1 (held on 09 July 2011, Saturday)
For Singapore Math Olympiad for Primary Schools (SMOPS) Platinum, Gold and Silver Awardees, Gifted Education Programme (GEP) students and Sports talents sporting achievements at Schools National level.
Sports Trials Period:
13 June to 15 June
Most of the trials will be held at the respective sports venues (indicated in the map attached) at Hwa Chong Institution- High School Section. Please enter through Gate 3 and park at the carpark opposite the tennis courts.
For those coming for volleyball trial which will be held in the college section, please enter through gate 1 along Duchess Road.
The trial serves to assess/confirm his sports talent and potential. The students may be asked to do some drills, time-trials, or play with/against each other. Hence please ask your son/ward to come in their primary school sports attire and bring along any personal equipment if necessary. I would like to assure you that the trials will not be overly rigorous or demanding. The trial should last between 1-2 hours. No special preparation is required. However, please ensure that your child/ward is medically/physically fit (not ill with fever, flu etc) to attend the trial.

For all other students who have done exceptionally well academically and in non-Sports Co-Curricular Activities, and/or shown strong leadership qualities.
Closing date of application: 01 July 2011 .15 July 2011.
