Broadly stated, the guiding principle and philosophy of the SBGE program is to help develop students into lifelong learners with an inherent understanding of knowledge and skills and to be able to anticipate and perceive problems or challenges from different perspectives and solve them effectively.
To nurture global thinkers, who with pride and commitment, steeped in values, to contribute to society with humility and integrity.
The Thinking Framework that cuts across all IP curriculums centred on Critical, Creative and Caring thinking is also adopted for SBGE.
The consortium adopts a multi-model approach to better meet the needs of gifted students. In addition to curriculum differentiation implemented in classrooms, there is variety of special programs and enrichment activities implemented to further stretch students’ potential.
We seek to provide an education which will groom our students into forerunners and future leaders. In line with the HCI mission, we recognize the diverse contributions that our students will make to society in the near future. The ability to think globally and more importantly, to carry out all tasks with a deep sense of commitment, is areas which we try to inculcate in our students. In this ever-changing world, basic values such as respect, a sense of gratitude and loyalty to one's roots become even more important. Last but not least, we hope that the students we teach will serve the community at large, with a sense of integrity and yet be able to empathize with others, towards a better tomorrow.
In a nutshell, the general goals of the consortium is to plan a program in order to offer a host of opportunities to students to help them develop their leadership potential, and facilitate their contributions to the community, towards nation building.
