The Student Leaders Convention (SLC) is an annual convention organised and hosted by Hwa Chong Institution (High School). Since its inauguration in 1995, SLC has evolved from a one-day seminar to a four-day convention. This year, the 16th SLC is jointly organised by Nanyang Girls' High School, and is held from the 1st to the 4th of June. Apart from providing a platform for youth leaders from different cultures to interact, SLC also hopes to provide an enriching and memorable experience for each and every one of them. Through equipping youth leaders with problem solving, team building and interpersonal skills, it is wished that the participants have the prudence to face the problems of today and to help nurture them to be the future leaders of the world.
With a new conceptual framework this year, the 16th SLC seeks to address problems youth face due to the prevalence of Social Media. Hence, this will equip Youth Leaders with the knowledge, skills and foresight to face the problems of today, nurturing leaders of tomorrow.
As with the tradition of inviting a Guest of Honour to provide invaluable advice and insight for this event, this year Minister of State, Prime Minister's Office, Mr. Heng Chee How, has kindly accepted to be the Guest of Honour.
